What is black salt?

Witch’s salt, or black salt, is a very powerful protective agent often used for protection spells, to break curses, stopping gossip and even for creating protective barriers. It’s important to note, though, that this salt is not for eating, mainly because of what’s in it.

So, how do you make black salt?

Black salt is made with :

–salt
-ashes (I like to use ashes from burning sage and palo santo, but you can use any and all ashes from incense, charcoal, etc)
–eggshell (optional)
-any other protective herbs are optional as well (ex: pepper, dried rosemary, etc.)

To begin:

1. Grind down the eggshell and any other bigger ingredients to a fine powder, separately. I like to use a mortar and pestle for this.
2. Mix all your ingredients together.
3. Say a prayer/incantation over it.
4. Store your newly made black salt somewhere safe and keep away from moisture.


Now you’re ready to use your black salt for your favorite protection spells, banishing spells, in amulets, to sprinkle in the corners of your home, or use in witch bottles!
